Welcome to Lexy's Cakes! I decided to set up this website to show a few photos of what I've been baking, and perhaps even sell a few cakes further down the line!
Today I made the cakes that you can see in the homepage photos. They're simple vanilla sponge cakes with buttercream icing. I've never done this rose pattern icing before, but I think it came out quite well. A few gaps in the icing here and there, but who's going to notice that?! I particularly like the dual colour effect, which I achieved by putting plain buttercream down one side of the piping bag, and pink icing down the other.
